We need enthusiastic people who, in their free time, can contribute in one of the following ways to making our newsletter as vibrant, dynamic and interesting as possible!
EDITOR:
Plan and co-ordinate each issue within pre-determined deadlines and countdown schedule. Liaise with the church office and leaders of various ministries and departments for articles and photos of events. Determine final content and arrange for typesetting, sub-editing and proof reading of material. Liaise with design and layout for final production.
WRITER/SUB-EDITOR/PROOF-READER:
Check, edit and proof-read articles. Rewrite lengthy articles to suitable length. Read final proofs for spelling, grammatical and typographical errors.
PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Take photos at events where no-one attending is able or willing to take photographs. The idea is to have people who, according to their own time availability and schedule can be approached to take photos with their own digital camera. (e.g. If you have a daytime job you will only be asked to help at an evening or weekend event.) You will not be expected to stay for the duration of the event.
ADVERTISING CO-ORDINATOR:
Assist with the gathering of advertising material, liaise with design & layout to produce ad according to advertiser's needs, and control payments for ads placed.
ANY OTHER WAY:
If you think you are able to help in any other way, please speak to me. We are always in need of original articles, poems, testimonies, etc as well as drawings, photos, and other illustrative material. The newsletter is for the Valley folk and should reflect their input in a large measure!
If you feel you can fill one of the above roles (and you may be wondering if you're "good enough" or "qualified enough"), please remember its not so much your ability that is required, but rather your availability!
