ALIVE AND ONE IN CHRIST!

25-31 Jan.

WELCOME:

List as many things as possible that you all have in common with each other.

WORSHIP:

In silence, read the words of the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ prayerfully and reflect on the significance of God’s grace in your life. Share your feelings by starting with, “I feel God….” Draw this time to a close by singing/ listening to ‘Amazing Grace’.

WORD: Eph 2: 1-22

1. What does Paul mean, when he says we have been “made alive”, “raised” and “seated” with Christ? (V5-6)?

2. Our salvation is not from ourselves (v 8-10) but does this mean we have no role in our salvation? Discuss. (Consider the relationship between faith, grace and good works).

3. a) What are some of the “dividing walls” evident amongst Christians today? b) What traditions, rules and requirements do we practice which might hinder people from coming into the kingdom?

4. How does the reality of living in ‘union with Christ’ affect your everyday life?

WITNESS:

Identify a relationship in your life where you need Christ to knock down walls and undertake reconstruction work. Prayerfully seek God’s guidance (especially with regard to your role, attitudes, behaviour etc). Take some reconciliatory action.
